This is the official website to help consumers obtain a copy of their free credit report. It was set up by the three major credit bureaus.

You can get one copy of your report from each of these three major credit reporting agencies: Equifax, Trans Union, and Experian.

By law, you're entitled to one copy from each, every 12 months.

You DO NOT NEED TO SUBSCRIBE TO ANYTHING in order to do this.

And, once you have obtained your report(s), none of these agencies will EVER send you an email inviting you back. If you do get an email from Trans Union, or Experian, or Equifax, it is a fake designed to scam you.

Ignore the commercials, the happy songs, the catchy jingles.

Three posts in 11 months: Ferocious blogging!

I wrote about reconnecting after NANO back in December.

Then managed to post three items in the last year.

What the hell.

I didn't have anything to say.

Dad and Dialysis

Dad got his first dialysis treatment today.

He's known about it for a while, just not exactly when it would take place. The docs scheduled his prelims well in advance; the idea being he'd be all healed up where the shaft is inserted before his condition required it.

So naturally two weeks after the shaft goes in, his kidneys go nuts.

Mom was kept him company on his first trip today. I just got off the phone with her; she says the procedure went well.

The chill in his blood is something he's going to struggle with, though. He's been kinda cold ever since he turned 79; now that the blood returning to his system is cooler than when it left, he needs blankets and a sweater to stay warm when he leaves the dialysis center.

Time to reconnect

I've managed to find the time to keep working on the book begun with Nano 2009--I need another 20 to 25,000 words to complete the first draft. I've set a deadline of December 31 on the draft.

Sadly, some of that time came at the expense of posting here, which I've missed. Now I just need to see how I can adjust things around All Things Writing. Right now, I'm able to comfortably produce between 700 and 800 words per day on the novel. It'll be interesting to see what kind of additional pace I can keep up in BlogLand.

I did it.

50, 053 words, posted and verified at nanowrimo.org a couple minutes before 4 pm.

I'm gonna need another 20,000 words to complete the book, but hell, the challenge was 50,000 in 30 days.

Actually, that's yesterday's tally. Just now starting production for today.

Closing in on the Nano goal of 50,000 words by November 30!!!

This will be my first ever win on Nano. After three prior years of trying and failing.
